On August 20th the world may have met the largest pearl ever found.
Having been stored under the bed of a fisherman from the Philippines was an approximately 75 lb pearl. He states that he found it in a giant clam in Palawan waters. The family had been using this pearl as a good luck charm and reached out through Facebook to get assistance in verifying it's authenticity.
If this pearl proves authentic upon evaluation it will be the largest pearl ever found.
