check-ups and maintenance.
It may be hard for us to remember that our jewelry needs some TLC to be at it's very best. When we wear our jewelry we use our hands, we dance, and we go about our lives. During this regular wear, small nicks and bumps occur; sometimes so small we need a magnifier or microscope to see them. Eventually those bumps and nicks add up, causing prongs to bend and crack, possibly even damaging or losing a gem.
